Our Sonoma Valley students, educators, families, and community deserve a school board that protects every child, regardless of race, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Instead, the Sonoma 3 school board members David Bell, Catarina Landry, and Jason Lehman have repeatedly voted against inclusive policies and dismissed community concerns about discrimination and harrasment. This site documents their votes, statements, and decisions so families can see the record and decide for themselves.
Students, families, teachers, and staff have not stayed silent. They have spoken at meetings, sent public records requests, written letters, and shared their stories. Here is what they have said, and what happened next.
Students Have Spoken
Students have told the board what school feels like for them. Dozens of students have addressed the board in person and on surveys about issues of harassment, lack of inclusive curriculum, feeling unsafe, and bullying.

Parents, grandparents, neighbors, and local organizations have filled meeting rooms and signed on to a shared call for change. 50+ residents have delivered public comments, and dozens have written letters asking for the flag to stay flying.

Education Professionals Have Added Their Expertise
School psychologists, social workers, counselors, researchers, and advocacy organizations have submitted letters, provided testimony, shared research on bullying and discrimination against students discrimination.
The community spoke, and the Sonoma 3 adopted a policy to remove the pride flag and continue discrimiating against LGBTQ students and put all students in harms way. We’ll keep tracking agendas, votes, and public comment, and publish them with links to the original sources. If something changes, whether good or bad, we’ll update the record.
